Copyright protects owners of intellectual property, when someone copyrights their work they have complete control over their work and being cited properly. If someone decides to use copyrighted material they must give credit to the owner, if not they run the risk of being sued or charged with a crime. Fair use is guidelines for how and how much of copyrighted material can be used and what impact this use may have. This applies to any copyrighted material, but if something does not have a clear copyright symbol, one should always treat resources they find as if they were copyrighted, just to be safe.
A solution to cyberbullying I could implement in my classroom is giving multiple lessons about the dangers of cyberbullying. This can be useful in many ways, the most obvious use is to teach kids not to be the cyberbully, but also teaches students how to tell adults about themselves being cyberbullied. These lessons would include the negative effects cyberbullying has on someone's mental health, and the suicide rate of cyberbullying, to help appeal to students' pathos. A solution to decreased productivity I could implement in my classroom is giving incentives to students for doing their tasks in a timely manner. This is something I do for myself and it works wonders, eventually, it gets to the point where it becomes second nature and the need for rewards fades away. This is also a very good tool because it will teach students how they can incentivize themselves to do work when they are older. I think another solution to decreased productivity is giving more flexible deadlines and allowing for revision on every assignment. This is because these will allow students to finish work when they feel they can, as well as allow them to fix mistakes they made when they were not able to do their best work.
I learned a couple of new skills from the newsletter design, one being general design skills. I am not the best at designing things because that is something I haven't done very often, so learning how to format the sections and text was a bit challenging at first. I also learned how to add columns in Word, although I am not 100% sure if I did it correctly, but I will find out eventually. These skills can be applied to my future career because there might be a time when I am working at a private practice or mental health center that may need someone to make a newsletter or graphic for a post; I could be an option if they don't have anyone more experienced than me.
