Assignment 5 was something relatively familiar to me as I had created a jeopardy game in a previous class just not through PowerPoint. One thing I learned was how to add sound to transitions, this is something that wasn't working for me at first. This was a bit frustrating but after a bunch of tries, I finally got it to work. Overall I am happy with the results and honestly want to use it for students in a future class of mine.     I think I will use surveys a lot as a teacher, considering I plan to teach psychology to high schoolers. One way I will use surveys is by doing a monthly check-in, I will use this to see how students are feeling about their classes, mental health, home life, and social life. I will also use surveys to do a mock experimental study with my students so they know what they are like. I will then have my students run mock experimental studies so they have first-hand experience in organizing them.      I think collaborati...

I am in an asynchronous section of EME 2040. I like this format because it allows me to work on things at my own pace. This is beneficial for me because it allows me to have breaks to avoid burnout. Now some people think this can lead to people turning assignments in late, but for me, it does the exact opposite; since I am not pressured to turn in assignments quickly I am able to find the motivation to do them. When I am a teacher I plan to use technology a lot, for example, one thing I will always do is post all PowerPoint and recordings of lectures. This can be used by students who were sick, students who want to refresh their memory before a test, etc. This is a very useful thing to do and I think all teachers should do this.     OERs are resources that are accessible to anyone with the technological ability to access said resources. OERs are open to everyone, and there are 5 rights that OER accessors have. These rights are Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix, ...

One skill I acquired was learning how to determine what colors worked well together and had the correct amount of contrast. This is something I often have some trouble with but I found a website that suggests color palettes and then I would copy and paste the hex code into Weebly. I did have to play around with font colors to find out what was most legible but I enjoyed figuring that out. A final skill I acquired was learning how to find interesting layouts that were not repetitive but not too distracting at the same time. Overall, I am very proud of my web design. Here is the link to my website:  https://bekahkoveneme2040.weebly.com/     Diigo was definitely a learning curve for me, I had never used it before and at first, it was a bit daunting. A skill I've acquired from using Diigo is learning how to briefly summarize long and interesting articles. I always want to talk about everything I read but I had to pick out the main points so one could quic...

The school website I found is Mrs. Clark's website.  This website begins on a home page that has multiple types of contact information for someone who needs to contact her. This website has separate pages for each of Mrs. Clark's classes, as well as some other topics that are important for students and their parents to have access to. The website is very informative and allows parents to know exactly what is expected of their child, and allows them to keep track of assignments and books needed for the class. The design is subtle but not boring, it is very balanced which is what is needed for a school website.  https://sites.google.com/learn.conejousd.net/mrs-clarks-web-page I envision myself using many different types of technological resources, the main ones being creating a class website and a class quizlet. I would create a class website because it is a perfect way to communicate with parents about what their child is expected to do in the class. It would also give parents ...

Diigo is a very new site to me, it is pretty easy to navigate though, which I appreciate. One aspect I like about Diigo is, if you share a source someone also has, it will immediately show you the comments they left. This is very helpful as it can give another perspective on the source, and encourages collaboration. One aspect I dislike is the design, it is very plain and almost retro (as cliche as it sounds), I just wish it was a bit more modernized.     I really like blogging, it's not something I do outside of class mainly because it is difficult for me to think of things to blog about. Having prompts for blogs is very helpful for me, this way I have an idea of what I need to write about, and the rest comes easily for me. I have learned that blogging doesn't have to be structured fully formally, it can be a bit more casual which is something I really enjoy. Having to write something formally can be a bit stressful and difficult to do, so being able to w...

I have found some accounts related to psychology and have been checking them for new information every couple of days. I find these accounts beneficial to me because they allow me to stay updated on current events in psychology, as well as find resources for research. Twitter is something I use personally pretty often, outside of the psychology field I use Twitter to stay up to date on stuff happening in the world. When something major happens, like when Queen Elizabeth died recently, I usually find out from Twitter. Some people may think using Twitter as a news source is not very reliable, but I think it's a way to find news from people like me, which makes it more digestible. I think Twitter will be very useful in my future career because I will be able to connect with people in my field, find new research, and just see what is going on in my career field.      The digital divide is something that is very important for everyone to be well-versed in, ...
